The Parent Information Center (PIC), a project of Parents Helping Parents of Wyoming Inc., opened in August, 1991 as one of the nationwide network of nonprofit, Parent Training and Information Centers (PTI's) funded by the United States Department of Education. Our first responsibility is to inform and educate parents about special education law and the rights and responsibilities they and their child have under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The main goals and purposes of PIC are to help families better understand education issues as they relate to their child's disability, and to provide support and encouragement to parents as they face their child's journey through life. |
