The Washington Protection and Advocacy System (WPAS) is a private, non-profit organization that has been protecting the rights of people with disabilities in the state of Washington since 1972.

Provides statewide coordination/support to all developmental related disabilities. Therefore, it is the mission of the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council to work collaboratively with people with developmental disabilities, families and guardians, service providers, advocates and policy makers to: assure that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families have access to culturally competent, consumer/family-centered supports and other assistance that promote independence, productivity, integration and inclusion into the community of their choice; and to
promote this vision in the public policy and planning arena through system change, community capacity building and advocacy at the local, state and national level.

State Developmental Disabilities Planning Councils are organizations that are appointed by each state's governor. Their members often include people with developmental disabilities, parents, guardians, non-governmental service providers, and representatives from state agencies that provide services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. The Councils provide advocacy and information for developmentally disabled individuals, their families, and the professionals who work with them. Each states' Council may vary according to what type of services they provide (although most do not provide direct services). To find out what type of resources are available to you, contact the Council in your state.

Washington Sensory Disabilities Services (WSDS) is an OSPI funded state needs project which provides information, training, technical assistance, and resources to families and educators statewide regarding children and youth with sensory disabilities – students who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired, or deaf-blind.

Three years ago, Mary Beth Palo, the company founder and mother of an autistic child began producing a line of videos after word-of-mouth spread regarding the success her ‘homemade’ videos had on her son. She is getting ready to release Volume 4 in the series of the now professionally produced videos. Presently, the videos are used by both public and private schools, behavioral/speech therapists and families of Autistic or speech delayed children. Wisconsin's Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a federal/state program designed to obtain, maintain, and improve employment for people with disabilities by working with VR consumers, employers, and other partners.

Intensive individualized one-to-one hourly ABA services for children with special needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, for the purpose of reducing problem behaviors and increasing skills in deficit areas, with emphasis on language and communication using Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior.
